Knit Leaf Blanket

Pattern can be purchased at - http://www.spudandchloe.com/patterns/leaf-blanket/

I have made the following changes to the pattern for the leaf blanket in order to have the stitches "flow" more smoothly from one row to the next...

Button hole loop and loop for leaf stem

Materials -
I used two strands of worsted weight yarn to make this blanket...rather than the bulky weight yarn recommended in the pattern

Section 1 -
Row 17 - K3, K1, M1 (knit in front and back making 2 sts from this 5th st), K to marker, sm, P1, sm, Knit to last 5 sts, M1 (making 2 sts from this st that is 5th from the end of the row), K1, K3

Section 2 -
Row 33 - K3, K1, M1 (knit in front and back making 2 sts from this 5th st), K to 2 sts before the marker, M1, K1, sm, P1, sm, K1, M1, Knit to last 5 sts, M1 (making 2 sts from this st that is 5th from the end of the row), K1, K3

Section 4 -
Row 1 - K3, K1, ssk,, K to marker, sm, P1, sm, Knit to last 6 sts, K2tog, K1, K3.
Row 7 - K3, K1, ssk, K to 3 sts before marker, ssk, K1, sm, P1, sm, K1, K2tog, Knit to last 6 sts, K2tog, K1, K3.

Finishing -
Since I used a large button, I added a loop to be used as a button hole. The loop was made with a chain stitch using 2 strands of worsted weight yarn.
