Knit Cotton Hooded Towel

Doll hand made by Pat A. Materials: sport weight or worsted weight cotton yarn Gauge: 18 sts = 4”/10 cm Finished Dimensions: approximately 24” x 24”/ 61 x 61 cm Directions: Cast on 3 sts. K1b (knit in back of st), knit in front and back of next st, yarn forward, slip last st. (4 sts) Continue knitting into the front and back of second st of each row. Knit to last st, then yarn forward, slip the last st until you have 145 sts. Start decreasing: K1b, knit 2 tog, knit to last st, yfwd, sl 1. Continue until there are 8 sts remaining. Begin increasing again, as before to 40 sts. Cast off loosely but do not break yarn. Finishing: Using a small (size D or F) crochet hook and chain stitch, attach the hood side to the corresponding blanket side across the eight sts at the top and then along the other side, to form the hood. Cut yarn and fasten off any ends. |
