Fleece Blanket with Crochet Edging

First variation : With awl or nail, punch holes evenly spaced around edge of the fleece.
Round 1 - Loosely sc in the hole, ch3, *sc in next hole, ch 3*; Repeat ** around. Join with sl st to first sc.
Round 2 - Ch 3, 2 dc, *ch 3, 3 dc*; Repeat ** around. Join with sl st to first ch 3.
Round 3 - Repeat round 2. Finish off.

Second variation : With yarn and large-eyed needle, sew blanket stitch around the entire edge of the blanket. Then begin crochet edging as follows: sc in top of first blanket st. *In next st (dc, ch 2, sc in second ch from hook for a picot) three times, dc in same st, sc in each of next two sts, repeat from * around the entire edge of the blanket, end sc in last st.
